From when I was a child, when ever there was a sign of ill-health, I used to ask myself, 'How did this happen to me?; What did I do to land myself with this health upset?' Ofcourse, my mother used to modify the diet for me, give me medicines (Ayurveda medicines) if required, make me rest. I would eventually land up with the answer about the cause of the health problem. For instance, I had a small bowl of noodles with some taste-maker powder once when I was 6-7 years of age. It gave me discomfort in my abdomen and I quite didn't like the twitching pain. So, I decided that day that, I would not be feeding my body with noodles any more. This is all about Cause & Effect. Another point I would like to discuss is about, 'NOT panicking for any sign of ill-health'. By and by, I practiced the art of not panicking about any health issue. All we need to do is, 'Close our eyes, bring focus to the region/organ of dis-ease and send thoughts of 'Auto-suggestion' of health. Many of my patients, increase their own suffering, pain & duration of ill-health by sheer 'panic'. Without taking names, I would like to share an example. One female patient came to me with chest pain upon hearing the news all around about the pandemic. I examined her and told her that she was absolutely fine; she would not require any medication, instead she does 'Naadi Shodhana' Pranayama. But, she insisted me to give her medicines for chest pain and for inducing sleep. This reflects on the overall good health status of a Doctor, more so an Ayurveda Vaidya. We keep giving 'Aatma Upadesha:' (Auto-suggestion) that we are healthy and will always remain 'Swasthya' (healthy at the physical, physiological, emotional and spiritual planes). Also because other people and more so the patients look up at us as symbols of health. This makes a Doctor or a Vaidya to keep auto-suggesting herself/himself to always remain in a state of optimal health status. If a doctor has a fever, the immediate question would arise from the patients is, 'What happened to you doctor? How come you fell sick?, You are a doctor!' This makes the mind of a doctor/Vaidya be able to tune back to 100% health (Swasthya) very quickly. So, I urge the readers to use these 2 keys for claiming back the Health: 1. Not to panic, but to sit with yourself and contemplate or think about the probable causes. [Sometimes, simple causes such as over exposure to mobile phone/laptop can be a cause for 'Acidity'! The eyes when strained bring about an imbalance in the other 'Pittas' of the body, thereby landing one in acidity or a heart-burn.] [Waking up after Sun-rise leads to nasal, chest & sinus congestion. So, all we need to do is practice sleeping before 11:00 pm and wake up atleast 1/2 an hour before Sun-rise of your place of residence] 2. Auto-suggestion Many of the patients tell the Vaidyas, 'By the confidence you provide, I feel half my problems are gone and I am sure I would become alright very soon'. Such is the power of words fed in. We need to remember that 'Manas' (Mind) is the 11th sense-organ. It is an organ which can influence other parts of the body. What we feed the mind, gets directly translated into physical health OR ill-health. Choice is completely ours.
